Wudan Principles

The movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon  displayed a number of moral and principles that all people should be able to take to heart.  The Wudan masters taught their pupils about respect, love, self-respect, dignity, loyalty, and honesty.  Respect is the most important moral taught by the Wudan master, and this is prevalent in most of the fight scenes.  Even while these scenes feature 2 enemies fighting, those fighters who studied under Wudan showed respect to their advisory while in combat.  Love is also an important element to the Wudan masters.  Love played a major part in the plot of the movie, and it could be argued that love is one of the reasons that Jen became a more respectful Wudan warrior.  Another big element in this movie is self-love and self-respect.  During the final scene of the movie, Shu Lien tells Jen "Promise me one thing: whatever path you take in life, be true to yourself"  This quote shows the importance of being true to oneself, and not trying to make decisions that aren't of your  personal nature.
